Located amidst stunning natural scenery in Khuntan National Park, situated at 500 meters above sea-level, the Gassan Khuntan Golf Resort is an extremely challenging yet rewarding Chiang Mai golf experience. Weaving its way through awe-inspiring mountainous terrain, passing streams and waterfalls, there are not many courses in the country that offer such breathtaking vistas and scenery.
This 18-hole course has a par-72 and is 7068 yards from the back-tees, located a 45-minute drive south of Chiang Mai City. The layout is not for the feint-hearted, with lots of high-elevation tee-offs and dramatic views all round.The course is known for its sharp doglegs, water carries, island greens, steep-edge bunkers and challenging demeanor. Bermuda grass is used for the fairways, and dwarf Bermuda for the greens. The natural panoramic views, alongside colorful flowerbeds and mountainous backdrops make this course one of the most interesting and mesmeric.
The clubhouse is modern in design and juts out from amidst the natural scenery. The locker rooms are a little basic, although there is a pro-shop and a restaurant onsite as well. Take advantage of the practice facilities that include chipping and putting greens, and a driving range.
The layout of this course is very dramatic, offering something completely different to what you find in other golf resorts across Thailand.
